Dr. Krieger spent 20 years becoming an accomplished general dentist before going back to school to becoming an orthodontist. It means that when Dr. Krieger is treating you, you’ll benefit as he views your case through the eyes of both an orthodontist and an accomplished cosmetic dentist who restored smiles on a regular basis. Dr. Krieger still mentors less experienced dentists and has lectured globally for more than a decade.
For 20 years, patients came to Dr. Krieger to change their smiles with veneers or crowns. Dr. Krieger attended hundreds of hours of courses specifically devoted to the aesthetics of the smile and the role individual tooth shape and form play in producing a pleasing smile. Dr. Krieger believes that every patient deserves to have a smile designed for their individual case, taking into account their specific tooth shape and things like the movement of their lips and shape of their face. This individualized approach and the compilation of all of the aspects of dentistry that play a role is called “smile design” and you can experience it at Krieger Orthodontics.
An orthodontist is a dentist, but a dentist is not an Orthodontist. All orthodontists are dentists first, but though not every dentist has the qualifications to be an orthodontist. Dr. Krieger continued her formal education for 2 or 3 additional years before receiving the necessary license and certification. As an orthodontist, Dr. Kieger has spent years studying nothing but how and why to move teeth. This includes what to do, how to plan, and how to execute the appropriate treatment plan.
Specialists receive additional training to give them the skills needed to deal with more complex orthodontic problems. Dentists receive basic orthodontic training which allows them to perform root canals, extract wisdom teeth, and treat young children who do not need to see an orthodontist yet.

You may think it’s easier to have your orthodontic work completed by your dentist. Convenience shouldn’t be a concern, because you will only be stopping by your The Colony orthodontic offices every six to eight weeks.
And don’t let price be a problem either! Krieger Orthodontics is proud to provide affordable treatment in The Colony area.
Dr. Krieger and his team are amazing people. Always so nice so informative and extremely easy to work with. From the consultation two years to all the appointments in between then and now we’ve never gotten away without shaking hands and positive smiles and feedback regarding our family and our daughter. I love the team up there and would recommend to everyone. I feel like a lot of orthodontists try to get kids in for braces early these days and maybe there’s something behind that but we did not feel pressured at all to get my daughter’s braces earlier than she needed them. If there were more stars to give Krieger orthodontics would have them. – Colin
Very pleasant appointment. Everyone was very nice, from reception through Dr. Krieger. I arrived early and they got me in and out by the actual scheduled time of my appointment. I won’t count on that always happening, but it was definitely nice today to not sit around and wait. Great to have such professionals in a convenient location.
Let me express how impressed and completely blown away I was with the great personalized care we received at our first office visit. The staff was beyond friendly and we walked in the office to a sign welcoming the boys by name. Dr. Krieger was amazing, knowledgeable, and took his time explaining our personalized plan. I did my homework and called around and let me say I’m extremely confident we made the right choice for our family. I encourage you to schedule and do the same. What a true blessing to feel good about your decision. Glad to be part of the Krieger Orthodontics family and looking forward to our next visit. – Roxanne
